On the 20th is the next Red Star art show. Last time’s showing was terrible and I think this is due to the fact that with the exception of some changing artists, if you have been to one of these, you’ve been to them all. Most of the artists are the same every time, and so it ends up being redundant. This is where I think our art scene is failing. Sure we have an art show once a month with some killer artists (*turn speakers down before clicking link) but this is a false sense of security. The art scene here needs a kick in the pants and thats why I have been talking a little to the Relative Theory Records guys to try to start something a little more. I always had a blast working with them and I think together we can pump some new life in the scene.
Besides I am sick of going to hip-hop style art shows. Not everyone wants to hear fucking “Souljaboy” when they are checking out the newest pieces.
